Most Overused Resume Cliches

Unemployment is at record highs with the national rate at 9.8 percent. Every job has countless numbers of people pushing each other out of the way for that one position. So how can you make sure that you one that one special candidate? A unique and admirable resume is always an excellent starting point. LinkedIn searched through its 85 million users and came up with a list of the most overused and should be avoided phrases for resumes. here is what they found:

1. Extensive experience
2. Innovative
3. Motivated
4. Results-oriented
5. Dynamic
6. Proven track record
7. Team player
8. Fast-paced
9. Problem solver
10. Entrepreneurial

These probably look very familiar to most of the working, or trying to be working, force. It makes sense that if every resume says they are a "hard working, team player who comes up with innovative ideas through their knowledge and extensive experience in (chosen industry) that they hold a proven track record within," it would be hard for an employer to take this "talk" seriously. Instead, experts suggest to show actual accomplishments that exhibit your own specific results you have succeed within your industry.
