Loan Officers: Quality vs. Quantity

When it comes to the success of an LO, there are a few things to evaluate. Of course the volume of their loans is very important but what about the quality of processing those loans? The whole loan process needs to be profitable and not too time consuming for the lender. Not to say that all high producing loan officers do not do a great job but perhaps the increased volume subjects them to needing extra attention form their support staff and paying less attention to detail. Sometimes the sheer thought of extra volume causes a person to not think about the bottom line or value of the company. Loan officers who are properly trained to begin with and fully understand the fundamentals of the documents they work with and how to communicate with their clients can not only produce high volumes of loans but also high quality files. In return, this makes the loans quicker and easier to close on the lending side. A win-win for all.
